Worcester start-up Petricore Games’ first game goes on sale at noon on Thursday
” ‘Mind the Arrow’ is a puzzle matching game that requires you being quick with both your mind and fingers,” Ryan Canuel, Petricore’s co-founder and CEO, wrote in an email. “Fun and family friendly, ‘Mind the Arrow’ is a puzzle game anyone can pick up and play with great ease, but only the best of the best can master it.”
Players are given 30 seconds to match flashing dots around a central circle by tapping their screens. But, Canuel cautions, do not get too comfortable, because when the orientation of the arrow in the middle of the circle changes, the game’s complexity increases.
“Mind the Arrow” began as a concept while the entrepreneurs were in college, but work in earnest began three months ago when Petricore Games formed, Canuel said.
The game also features an online leaderboard and an achievements element.
“You’ll always be fighting friends and people all over the world for the highest score,” Canuel said.
Puzzles are generated in a random order. Add the ability to unlock unique colors, levels and circles to its other features and the game can be played infinitely, Canuel noted.
