When it comes to game design, it pays to specialize.
Just ask Becker College’s director of design programs, Paul Cotnoir.
“Of the (521 colleges that offer game design), only 39 actually offer a degree in the field,” Mr. Cotnoir said. “And, of those 39, there’s only one college that offers a degree in that field with concentrations in all the key areas associated with producing an actual piece of interactive media.”
That commitment to specialization at Becker College in Worcester, combined with a program that throws students into professional situations as early as their freshman year, has vaulted Becker graduates into gaming workplaces across the country — from owning their own independent studios to working on big-name titles for some of the largest game developers.
