MentorAtHand (MAH) helps users ramp up quickly at the job by allowing them to ask questions about work, and have those questions answered anonymously by their co-workers. The community of MAH users at that workplace score answers according to their helpfulness, and a living directory of solutions for tasks is created. When someone new asks an old question, they don’t have to reinvent the wheel, they just ask MAH!
MAH also elicits feedback users’ honest feedback about their workplace and their coworkers. Trained counselors analyze the feedback from several points of reference, combine it with the user’s activity in asking and mentoring their co-workers, and are able to offer the user confidential and balanced feedback about their strengths and areas for improvement. Thus, MAH offers timely, iterative feedback that is constructively phrased so that MAH users can continuously improve and monitor their own progress.
